Apparently, 23rd avenue is one of the nicer places around, at least according to the Project for Public Spaces.

Other Things: I just heard something on OPB about Portland being the new center of the world for Linux. Apparently Linus Torvald lives here (well, Beaverton, but that counts) and a lot of Linux stuff happens here.
