‘The Nose’ Smells Funny
Willamette’s Week mystery whiner, The Nose, is having a fancy little fit about fur and foie gras protesters. The Nose tries to prove some vague point by arguing that the fur and foie gras protesters should be protesting about Ukraine, Darfur, the homeless, U.S. Marines, soybean cultivation, Subaru, Sysco, Portland Public Schools, and Safeway.
Whining about the inconvenience of protesters? Was there some sort of demographic change in readership of the alt-weekly I didn’t hear about? I suppose it could be blamed on a slow news week, but to me it hurts the credibility of the paper. I already approach the Willy Week with a raised eyebrow, wondering which article will make me feel “too young” to be reading it.
