My brain hurts
I’m flipping through WWeek this morning and notice an ad for an interesting series that OHSU is putting together on brain awareness.
Next week’s event – It’s All in Your Head – Emotion, Mood & the Brain – looks particularly appealing, as I’m dealing with a pre-teen going through typical adolescent emotional storms. And, hey – it’s conveniently located downtown at the First Congregational Church. Future lecture topics include developing brains in children, and the teenage brain, among others.
And, look! There’s a raft of corporate sponsors on board – it’s presented by Comcast, and OMSI, OPB, WWeek and the Oregon Symphony all have their logos represented. Glad to see local businesses and organizations are helping to support educational seminars for the public.
But wait a minute. Tickets are $20.00? For an event held in a church, with a raft of corporate sponsors?
I guess I know one way OHSU intends to make up their budget shortfall…
