Well I don’t know that the Meetup was a success exactly, but I had a really good time. And I finally have something Portlandy to blog about!

Russ, Mikey, Tim (of Tribune fame), my friend Jeff and I hung out at Stumptown. Pretty laid back, hangin in the corner with a couple of Powerbooks. We had a good time, chatting about this and that and the other thing.

We had a lovely conversation and a little coffee. Turns out that I’m a geek on a galactic scale. I had no idea! OK, I had some idea. Eventually we ended up on the subject of mashups and after burning a couple of CDs, Stumptown closed and we were off to Voodoo Donut. Mikey had a deep inner need for a dozen so he let the guy at the counter’s fingers do the walking. This means he ended up with a maple blunt, a couple varieties of Oreos, a Crunch Berry one, a maple bar, a chocolate frosted one with a white pentagram on it, and several others. I accepted the generous offer of ‘a donut’, and selected one topped with Cocoa Puffs. A chocolate donut, with chocolate frosting, and Cocoa Puffs stuck in it.

Then we headed home. It was a good time, and hopefully we will do it again. Thanks!
