A bit late but here are some suggestions:

-- Pho Hung, Vietnamese (there's one on the east side and a new one in beaverton)

-- Bai Tong, Thai (Johns Landing on Macadam. Sweet Basil is a bit "fancy" for me)

-- Chinese duck/wonton noodle soup (this is complicated but in Chinatown... I don't know the name but it's on 4th just past the gates to Chinatown on the right hand side near the adult store... little tiny joint with ducks, and meet hanging right inside the front door. Park nearby and just walk to that spot looking for the hanging meat :)

Okay, here's what I can think of off the top of my head:

Thai - Pad Thai - Sweet Basil in NE.

Vietnamese - the place down near PSU on Broadway that looks like it's in an old diner. Never remember the name, but really like the pho soups there.

Italian - my house, with my bolognese sauce. If I *have* to go out? Pastini, I suppose.

I've been to the one in Beaverton and the one on Hawthorne twice. In Beaverton it was pretty dead, and we got good service and decent food. Both times on Hawthorne it was sort of busy, and maybe my bad day took the processed velveeta edge off, and I was just glad someone was nice to me, I don't know. But I've tried the asian-y dishes and the greek one and the cajun one (I forget now) and I thought they were all right for the price, it was about as much as driving through something but I felt like I got real food. I'd go back. I didn't think it was exceptional or anything, but it was better than a Big Mac!

Where do you go for noodles, Betsy?

You like Noodlin'? Really?

I've been there twice; both times I thought it was mediocre and overpriced. Plus, the staff there was way too friendly in that processed velveeta kind of 'let's all be cheery!' kind of way.

I wanted to like it, since it's in the Burgerville family and all. But I just couldn't do it...
