…since this year’s Grand Floral Parade is now history.

That’s an old saw we heard during our first year in PDX, and it’s managed to hold true almost every year we’ve been here, from what I can recall.

(Save for an unusual rainstorm that happened one year in late July, conveniently during a birthday party for a 7 year old boy that was supposed to happen outdoors, of course…)

And on a related note, I’ve always managed to avoid even televised coverage of the parade - until today, that is. Tracy Barry and Joe Donlan will henceforth have my total and complete sympathy for having to anchor two hours of what amounted to locally-produced commercials for float sponsors.
