Out and about

Hmm. My niche as best/worst guy is eroding due to neglect. I’ll remedy that later.

Today I ended up working, relying on the weather-people and my keen understanding of Oregon’s typically-sucky weekend weather.

Luckily, I’m so in love with my new camera that I took it with me, because once I was free to look around, it was a nice day to snap a couple of random shots around downtown…

First, as I left the office, I saw the old deer statue that sits between 3rd and 4th in the mega justice area surrounded by the Multnomah County Courthouse, the Federal Courthouse, and the Justice Center. This deer represents the mecca of our legal culture, I suppose.

The Great Deer of Justice

Of course, I could be wrong.

Anyway, then I looked into the park and saw the old statue commemorating, primarily, Oregon’s WWI veterans. Thought I’d get a shot of that, too.

War Memorial

As I drove home, I started onto the Hawthorne bridge and thought I’d grab a shot while there was no traffic around.

The Mighty Hawthorne

I like bridges. And I like this end of the Hawthorne, which rises dramatically while the other end just kind of bobs along.

Anyway, thought I’d share those. Best of/worst of later today.
