Unbelievable desserts!

So, most of my friends are all high on the desserts at Papa Haydn’s. Or happy to run out to Baskin & Robbin’s for the occasional tasty treat.

But, this weekend, my wife and I finally tried a place she’d been eyeing over on Division, just up the street from Whole Foods.

The place: Pix Patisserie

The food: Heavenly

Speaking of Papa Haydn, we went to Pix after having a rather disappointing visit to the PH out on Milwaukie, where our service was extremely sub-par and the food was, generally, just okay. We decided not to further reward them by purchasing dessert there.

So we headed out, thinking maybe we’d head to Rimsky’s for coffee, or perhaps even the Pied Cow.

Then, my wife remembered Pix. And boy, aren’t I glad?

Did you ever see “Chocolat”? The movie about the lady who opened the chocolate store (I was going to use the French word, but realized I only remember “I went to the library” from my 6th grade lessons) and brought new life to a sleepy, repressed town?

Well, Pix is the closest thing I’ve been to in Portland. The desserts, delicious. The beer? Amazing (although I went “cheap” by getting a Full Sail). The atmosphere? Warm but electric. A great, great place.

I suggest…no, I DEMAND, that you go.
