Ken, you should *definitely* go to the Blues Festival, at least.

I'd also add the Nutcracker (or ballet in general), plus the symphony to my list as well.

And dieselboi nails it re. Tad's. It's the experience I'm after, and not so much the food...
But I'm with ExtraMSG re. the Blazers, heh...

I'll think about it more, but here's a first stab:

- An evening at Jimmy Mak's (I never made it to Jazz de Opus before it closed, either)
- A trip on the Springwater Trail, the Esplanade and/or the Bridge Pedal
- An evening at Portland City Grill
- Christmas at the Grotto
- Singing Christmas Tree
- The Nutcracker ballet (with my daughters)
- Any of several Waterfront Park festivals -- Blues, Beer, Cinco de Mayo... (OK, I went to one night of the Blues Festival about 15 years ago, so maybe that doesn't count)

Tad's may not be a higgins or castagna cafe, but the atmosphere alone is worth the trip out there. i have been wanting to go to Tad's since i was a wee child and still have memories of driving past that sign. i would go in a second, not for the great food or great beer, but to create a memory.

my list?
eat at genoa
visit chinese gardens
go to the ballet
take a boat ride south from downtown on the willamette
go to the "beach" at sauvie's island
visit and eat at edelweiss german deli
take the train from portland to astoria
walk every street in puddletown

All the reports over at PortlandFood say that Tad's sucks, so you might consider dropping it from the list.

Save $50 and watch the Blazers at home, if at all.
