Dieselboi is perfectly right… we welcome all kinds of discussion. I realize that discussing something you DON’T like isn’t as fun as discussing something you DO like but socializing with cool people, having a few beverages and chit-chatting is always a fun endeavor! If you’re so inclined and have the time, please stop in. We tend to talk about a lot of different topics in addition to the book the group chooses.

Oh, and we may even be having a showing of the Global Frequency television pilot! We still need to work a few things out but it’ll be cool to show it on the Crow Bar’s digital projector downstairs where we meet.

we found our copy of global frequency. franka, our oldest and feistiest chi hid it from us under her pillow because she was secretly reading it trying to get a “one up” on us for next month’s meeting.

yah, big thanks to Michael and Patrick for getting this ball rolling and to everybody who showed up– and while i disagree with benkay’s assessment of “global frequency”, i’d love to discuss it with him at the meeting next month.

your opinion is just the sort of discussion that would be helpful at such an event. the purpose of the book club is to read something we may or may not like and then discuss. it’s also an oppotunity to open our eyes to new genres, artists and writers.

Don’t bother. I got through book one, but only through sheer willpower. It’s nifty and such, but there are no coherent plot threads for any of the episodes I read. It’s just a series of events, connected through virtue of being a part of the global frequency.

Like Alias, with the static overarching plot of the Simpsons.
