Protest at Schumacher Furs

Protest at Schumacher Furs

Originally uploaded by dieselboii.

About 20 people are out here protesting fur at the corner of sw 9th and morrison. There is even the bunny guy we saw at j crew a few weeks ago.

And yes, the police are here, I count 5.

The people in the store are freaked out and the police are preventing the protestors from going in.

Sent from my phone, probably while hiding from the man.

Oh, so the employees were “freaked,” and felt trapped in the store.

Is it reasonable to suppose that the minks and foxes who died to make the fur coats sold in this same store also were “freaked” as they felt trapped in their tiny cages for all of their short lives?

I’m not a PETA member or even a vegetarian. But I don’t believe that fur coats are necessary except in the most dire climates. Wearing fur is vanity, pure and simple.

Vanity, eh? So is makeup. Jewelry. Tattoos. Clothing more decorative than undyed, unbleached natural fibers.
