Ouch!
If anyone’s curious as to how I spent my weekend, Saturday was a series of planes into Portland.
Sunday, however, I went skiing on all that fresh new snow, and then I fell and almost snapped my neck. Being the inveterate photographer, I asked a friend to take a picture of me just so that I could show everyone.

what’s the damage, amigo?
Abrasions on my face, bleeding nose, cut up inside my mouth, my arms are wickedly bruised, the T2 and T3 vertebra are bruised as well, but not broken (for which every single doctor I spoke with marveled at–I landed on my skull and by all rights should have broken them), and the muscles on either side of my spine are really tightly bunched up.
Other than that, though, it’s all superficial. I’m still leaking from my face a little bit, actually.
