Rachel Needs Some Good Thoughts
Eddie May Murder Mystery Dinner Theater has been doing shows in Portland at the Days Inn downtown for over 15years. (Longest running dinner theater in town.) I have worked off and on with the company over that time. Like any business EMMMDT has had itís ups and downs. I know a lot of people, mostly actors, who believe that dinner theater is a spawn of the devil. I have thought this myself from time to time. Itís not Shakespeare thatís for sure but EMMMDT is a great place for actors to get some stage time and hone their improv skills. EMMMDT has also provided many a starving actor with a meal when they needed it most. (I speak from experience.) EMMMDT has also worked for the D.O.D at times meaning many of my friends and I have been paid to travel the world doing what we love and of the hundreds of shows I have preformed for EMMMDT 99% of the audiences went home happy.
Anyhow, I bring all this up because Rachel Paul, owner and producer of EMMMDT, recently had a little heart attack and could use some good thoughts. So regardless of what you think about dinner theater please send some good energy her way.
By the way EMMMDT is also looking for some actors if anyone out there is interested in auditioning you should call (503)-524-4366
That is also the number to call if your interested in seeing a show.
Here is a link to the EMMMDT website. I hesitiate to put this here because the website has not been updated in about 6 years but here’s the link anyway. EMMMDT

Thanks for posting this about the mystery theater dinner. I have an out of town guest coming in Jan and wanted to take him to something like this. After reading your post, I think I will! Are there other dinner theater’s in Portland? A Google search only turned up that one.
You could try “Who Stole My Dead Husband”. They are new in town so I don’t know anything about them. Find them at http://www.whostolemydeadhusband.com
