The weather outside is… frightful?

Don’t bother calling me at work today. Talk about willing this “ice storm 2005” into existence; I left the Inclement Weather Conditions speech on my voice mail Friday afternoon before the staff Holiday party. Being that I work for an educational institution when I’m not blogging, well, I thought it’d be the right thing to do after having heard the storm warning for Sunday evening. Plus I didn’t want to work today because I’ve got a lot of Christmas gift wrapping and card writing to do before the end of the week.

Yet here I am 8am Monday morning, and frankly, from where I’m sitting, it doesn’t look so bad. Hey, I’ll take this Inclement Weather Day, but this sure is no New Year’s 2004 ice storm. In fact, I actually need to fight the urge to start working from home.

I’ve heard it’s kind of nasty east of Portland. I hope everyone is driving smart and has extra coats and shoes in their cars should anything happen. Guess I’ll just hang out by the radiator, blog in my pjs, do some wrapping and finish up those X-mas cards.
