Last year, I was going East over the Burnside Bridge. The ticket I annoying received in the mail said I was going 35 mph in a 25 mph and it was just under $200. However, it's 25 mph just before the bridge and 35 mph on the bridge. The photo van said I was going 35 mph at SW 1st. When I went back to check and be sure I was right (I KNOW I wasn't speeding), I found that SW 1st is actually under the Burnside Bridge which means I was on the bridge and thus in the speed limit. I petitioned the ticket and was given a credit of $20 (whoop - d - doooo...) - My word against a van/camera that many times you can't see. No cop you can talk to - so frustrating! So what I want to know is what was the credit for? They would never give me a reason for the return of $20. If I was really speeding I should pay the fine...so why the credit? What do you think PDX? Look for the temporary signs that say "Photo Radar Enforced". The radar van will be just around the corner.
