Set Darius Miles free
Maybe it’s the four glasses of wine I had at last night’s Seder. Or perhaps it’s the whole ’sacrifice and be rejuvenated - ELSEWHERE’ theme I remember from my Christian upbringing. But it seems to me that Darius Miles - yes, that guy wearing street clothes in the middle of the game or sleeping his way through practice, only to shrug them both off with a ‘it isn’t any big deal’ Darius Miles - ought to be set free from the unbearable agony that he must be enduring to be a Portland Trail Blazer.
And the time to do it is now, as sports columnist John Canzano suggests in today’s column.
Sure, he may be capable of making bricks for us someday. But he sure isn’t slaving away today - that’s for sure. And I don’t think we want to lose Nate McMillan to that tenth plague, do you?
Paul Allen - walk like an Egyptian already, will you? Let Miles go.
