for i think the third year in a row, Billy down at Albina Press on N. Alibina, has placed in the SCAA National Barista competition. This year in Charlotte, NC, Billy placed 2nd in the overall competition. I am happy to be a customer. The competition is as follows from the SCAA (Specialty Coffee Association of America):

Competitors will race through a maze of judges and photographers while maintaining composure as they prepare and serve 12 coffee drinks - four espressos, four cappuccinos and four original signature drinks of their own creation - all within a 15-minute timeframe.

Billy is currently working at Albina Press on N. Albina, just north of Skidmore in the Mississippi district. He’s there now. Go get probably the best espresso you’ll have in awhile.
