Brought to You by WHO?

My more-thought-out, better-researched Rose Festival post will be coming soon.  In the meantime I just had to post this little gem to ponder.  On my way to work this morning I heard an advertisement on the radio.  It started like this:
“Hi this is Mother Goose and I’m one of the people bringing the Rose Festival to you this year.”

What. The. Hell…  Mother Goose?  This is what the great and almighty city of Portland chooses to use to advertise and represent what is allegedly the festival to celebrate the city?  No thanks, I’ll stick to my Vancouver and our “We’re boring but every July 4th we blow more things up than anyone else on this side of the country” mantra.
