Look! There’s a midnight parade of bicyclists!
And the moonlight’s gleaming off…bare skin?
Yep, we stumbled across the hordes of naked bicylists last night on our way to Montage (which was closed due to a power outage, fyi.) Or, more accurately, we were stopped by a full frontal of a naked girl, blocking the light (with her bike as barricade) at MLK and Alder through at least four lights so that her hordes of fellow travelers could proceed down MLK in front of us.
Yes, we tried to get pictures - but we were 3 or 4 cars back, and the only crowd shots we got were pretty blurry.
The cars lining up were pretty cooperative - after all, how often do you get to see a bunch of naked people riding around at midnight? And before you know it - they’d disappeared down a side street, on their way to who knows where.
Did anyone else spot the naked bike posse last night? Or were you, perhaps, one of the riders?
Update: Jonathan Maus over at BIke Portland has the full story, complete with pictures.

I was sleeping off some organic beer when I heard these guys cruizing by my apartment last night on West Burnside. I wasn’t motivated to get up and look, but by the sound of the shrieks, whoops, and screams, I imagine there was some serious naking bicycling going on out there.
For a few minutes, I was a bush supporter!
Hmm. Aparently this was a worldwide effort:

One can only hope and pray that Mayor Potter wasn’t involved.
Overheard: “That’s no seat bag.”
I think it was Mark Twain that said “Clothes don’t make the man, but I never saw a naked man that made much of himself.” And later he said, “naked people really have very little power in society.” But I bet they have more fun!
