Free food? I hear there’s free food downtown…

When I passed by the new Qdoba this morning on SW 5th and Taylor, the large sign promised that they’d be opening tomorrow. Well, apparently they’re handing out free lunches today to warm up the downtown crowds (this from a reliable rumor I received via IM from a regular MetBlog reader - I don’t work downtown, so can’t verify this.)

Can someone please find out if this is true? And if you were lucky enough to score some free eats, how was it?

(This is the inaugural post in our new series - PDXFreebies. We’ll be posting about free stuff all summer long, putting the posts in their very own category and Technorati-tagging them to boot. It’s just part of our mission to help you keep more of your hard earned money in your own pockets this sizzling summer…)
