Here’s My “Place Where We Met Is Gone” Story-Let’s Hear Yours
On a First Thursday not all that long after the turn of the Millennium I walked into the Attic Gallery on the southwest corner of Northwest First Avenue and Pine.
Chatted up a woman selling wine at the gallery. After about three Merlots from a vineyard whose owner has been involved in Oregon politics, we traded contact info, and we dated for awhile.
About two years ago, I think, the Attic Gallery expanded to take up some space directly across NW First, on the side nearest the river.
When I went back to the Attic Gallery last night, I saw they had consolidated in the newer space, and the older space was now vacant to the walls and available for lease.
I briefly went back in time to the scenario I described at the beginning of this post.
But then I started to think that most of us have a “the place where we met is closed” story. It could be in an old bookstore, maybe the old downtown Safeway, a nightclub or restaurant that’s no longer around. Or a gallery, for that matter.
I’d like to read your stories. Also, if you are still with the person you met at that place, do you ever go by that specific location and just reminisce?
