What do Oregonians do on a hot, sunny afternoon?
Well, a bunch of us apparently went to Fry’s yesterday afternoon - ours was the 11th car in a row to turn into the Fry’s parking lot, which was jammed, jammed, jammed.
I needed a new keyboard, my friend needed some blank DVD discs, plus I wanted to browse a bit (the flat screen monitors are especially tempting lately.) There are always good deals to be found at Fry’s - and not always for what you might think, either. One-liter bottles of soda were fifty cents cheaper than you can find in any grocery or convenience store, for example - and there were some new Ghiradelli chocolate bar flavor combinations that I wouldn’t even let myself look at, for fear I’d end up with too much chocolate in the cart.
Sure, I could have gone to Circuit City or someplace closer to home for the 12 dollar keyboard I ended up buying (although I spent way too much time dithering over the wireless options with all the bells and whistles.) But there’s just something about Fry’s that lures me in when it’s time to buy computer stuff.
Obviously, I’m not the only one, judging by yesterday’s crowds…!

Fry’s rules.
One day you can ignore the crowded parking lot and take the DMU/Commuter Train. :o
sorry, can’t agree about Fry’s. i know it’s a good deal, but for me, nothing is worth the drive and crowds. that’s me.
what did i do? well, went for a nice 2-3hr walk in n. portland, did a pop in on a friend, had some sushi, and got a little sun. all in all, a wonderful saturday afternoon in July.
