Salad Days

I love salad. About once a week I find myself at Old Wives’ Tales making at least three trips through the salad bar. I think I’m in a bit of a rut and need your help. Where else in town is there a good salad bar?

I know New Seasons has a great salad bar, but I’m looking for a place that doesn’t charge by the pound. It cost me $20.00 or more to get a decent sized salad there.

Please help me. I need a salad fix.

Any suggestions?

Sweet Tomatoes Restaurant. It’s a soup, salad, and baked goods buffet. I believe it’s all-you-can-eat, and the salad bar is pretty dang large. The soups are good, too. There’s one in Beaverton, one in Clackamas, and one in Tigard.

the Wild Oats has a pretty good salad bar, though it’s by the pound, too.

Salad World downtown (at 2nd and Taylor, I believe) is a pretty close approximation of the salad bars by the pound that you’ll find in convenience markets around the NYC metropolitan area.

JonPaul, I think we’re Salad Soulmates. Your plea for a good salad is exactly why I googled “salad bar portland oregon” just a few minutes ago…the desire for a high quality salad, feeling that the options I know of are either played, too expensive, or not that great. Let me know if you find anything worth writing home, or a blog, about!!! :)

I ate lunch today at The Daily Grind on Hawthorne, and they have a GREAT salad bar, but it’s by the pount (5.20 or so). It was worth the money, I have to say.
