Sam Adams: Rock N Roll Commissioner?
So it looks like Sam wants us to feel the rock. Or the bluegrass or the disco, I suppose, if that’s what works for you. It sounds like they want to open a discussion of how to make our music scene a happening place for folks who aren’t always local.
I know that my favorite live album always made me wonder how people who live in Pasadena feel when they hear Dave yell “GOOD EVENING PASADEEEENAAAAAA!!!” I mean, it always amps me up a little, and I have never even been there! How cool would it be to have a moment like that for Stumptown? It would be a damn sight better than just having the West Hills mentioned in a song…

But we *do* have a song named after us - after the band in question gave a less-than thrilling live performance here (they even issued a spoken apology buried within another song.)
What about the Loretta Lynn/Jack White “Portland, Oregon”
(And 101 really is the best live album ever isn’t it!)
