Crema
Right now I am sitting in a coffee shop called Crema on SE 28th and Ankeny. The coffee here is great (if you like stumptown) but I think their success has come with the in house bakery. I tend to visit a lot of coffee shops and I don’t see to many that bake their own stuff on site.. Not to mention the fact that they do it extremely well. My personal favorite is the corn and cheese biscuit. Oh yeah baby! I’m getting hungry thinking about it. To bad they don’t have any today.
The other thing that draws me to this place is the design and layout of the building. It’s very open and industrial with really high ceilings, exposed framework and concrete floors. On both the North and east side they have huge glass garage doors that open up during nice weather as well.
Other bonuses: Good music, free wifi and a decent magazine rack.
