Having money is a good thing, and for most of us that means having a job. Some jobs are fun, others are just plain work. Let’s talk a bit about our employers (past or present). Let us know who you have worked for, and some pros/cons of the jobs. I thought an open discussion of good and bad places to work in the area could be interesting.

And please, let’s keep this at least partially objective. “My boss is a fucktard” isn’t particularly helpful, whereas things like “flexible hours” or “company is very conservative and slow to change” offer a more reasonable picture of things.

I’ll kick things off with a couple of mine:

  • ADP: Pros: established company. A great place to spend a long career without having to work too hard. Pay and benefits are “average”. Cons: very slow to change or embrace new technologies. Many managers have been there forever and insist on doing things “the way it’s always been done.”
  • TNT Software: Pros: small company, cozy work environment, flexible hours. Cons: not the greatest pay, minimal time-off benefits, many processes and procedures not as structured as I would’ve liked.

Your turn… tell us where you’ve liked (and not liked) to work!
