N. Mississippi meet Hollywood
This just in, thanks to Blogtown. The Fresh Pot on N. Mississippi will become the center of a new movie with Greg Kinnear and Morgan Freeman. Woooo hoooooooo! Boise gonna get famous for something other than NIMBYs, loft projects and a sketchy past. I’m so excited. All these Hollywood types coming into the hood shopping and spending their wages on comic books, hip clothes, pasta and beer. I wonder if some of the neighbors will head on over to the city and file an appeal to block the project. I don’t have the dates, but trust me, I wander past the Fresh Pot daily, so I’ll keep my eyes (and camera lens) open.
fyi, if you didn’t figure it out, there is some obvious sarcasm in the above post.

Freeman allegedly plays a Reed professor. At least that’s what I heard at work, because his character’s study apparently needs a rather massive set of books for set decoration.
Oh, hell.
If they block off access to a) Blue Gardenia or b) Bridge City Comics for “movie security” (I’ve lived places where they filmed movies, they can/will take over up to ten blocks around the site), I will be a very unhapphy woman. And if I’m not caffinated, I cannot be responsible for my acctions
ooohhhh, oooohhhh, film stars, it’s so exciting, maybe they will notice me for the wannabe I am,I’ll have to manacure my mutton chops. maybe they will let me insert my tongue where the sun don’t shine. It will be really nice to actually see an african american/ black person on North Mississippi again, even if it’s only for a few weeks.
Morgan Freeman portraying a Reed professor? That I will have to see. Although I doubt that even an actor as skilled as Mr. Freeman is up to the task.
Perhaps someone should send him a package of Vantage cigarettes and a videotape of Professor Emeritus Marvin Levich from the mid-80’s. That should inspire a performance worth the price of admission.
