One of the things I love about Portland is how easy-going we are (for the most part). BIke Portland tossed a post up about a local shop owner/racer’s profile in the nationally-circulated Bicycling Magazine. In the comments at BP, a commentor expressed pronoun confusion, and upon clarification of Molly’s gender identification basically went ‘oh’. I’m leaving town soon, and that flexibility of thought is something I’m going to miss. Not that New York doesn’t have a healthy LGBT community, but I worry about everyone else’s tolerance.
