St. Francis Mural
On my way to work yesterday I noticed a few artists working on this mural at the St. Francis dining hall on southeast 11th and stark. I always enjoy seeing people make art in their communities. This particular project really brightens up the block and gives a fresh new look to the park it surrounds. Good job to those of you who put this all together!
thanks! you can check out some other projects we have going at sacredspacepdx.org. this mural started last summer as our first “sacred space” project, a partnership between imago dei community, st. francis parish, muralist angelina marino and some local residents sparked by our desire to see new life and beauty in different areas of the city. the city came behind the project after it started with a grant to extend the mural. its so great to hear comments like this and see that people appreciate it. we’d love to have you come join one of our upcoming projects this saturday. thanks!
sincerely,
