Z-Do: The future of the Blazers

They really should of thought up a better nick name for Zach Randolph. Z-Do? There has got to be some more creative names out there. Anyway, I came across this interesting quote from Nate McMillan today on the Oregonian’s Blazer Blog:

“Sebastian is a Ferrari and Zach is an 18-wheeler,” McMillan said. “And that Ferrari is running while the 18-wheeler is saying, ‘Hold up.’ Even though they were two young guys and the core of our group, it really wasn’t working. We had to make a decision: build around Sebastian or build around Zach. And the decision was to build around Zach.”

I’m not sure you can really call Zach Randolph an 18 wheeler yet. If he is an 18 wheeler what does that make Shaq or Tim Duncan? Maybe he’s more like a pickup truck or something. I’m still not sure about the Blazers and their decision to build around Randolph. The guy is good but I’m not convinced that he can really lead a franchise. I’m hoping he proves me wrong though.

Zach is a Cadillac SUV, reeking of pot, with two loaded guns under the front seat.

And McMillan can’t very well be trashing him while the Blazer front office continues to peddle him around the league now, can he?
