Have a voice in city government

Do you read about Police activities or events and suddenly your blood begins to boil? Do you feel the Portland Police have wronged people in the past? Do you want to have a voice in the future of the Portland Police? The Independent Police Review Division is looking for volunteers to be a part of the Citizens Review Board. As a member of the board, you will be asked to be a part of the following:

Gather community concerns about police services.

Help the IPR Director develop policy recommendations to address patterns of problems with police services and conduct.

Review and advise on IPR and IAD handling of complaints.

Hear appeals from complainants and officers and publicly report its findings.

If this interests you, your application needs to be submitted by September 1. You can find all the information here.

Nice spin on your post Dieselboi. We wouldn’t want it to just be about folks who want to get involved. Good thing you decided to incite the emotions of those who have a grudge…

I’d hope the folks on the review board can look at things objectively without involving things like their blood boiling or feeling wronged…
