Storm Large “survives” - literally
Last night on Rockstar: Supernova, our very own Storm Large was panned by the band after her performance of “I will survive.” WeI thought the performance was great, yet no one else did. Tonight, we discovered that at some point in the voting, Storm was in the bottom three with regards to viewer’s votes. When it was announced, she seemed excited as if she knew she should have to fight for her right to be there. Yet, in the end, she “survived” and didn’t have to prove her chops. One good thing was that Dave Navarro felt she was the only one who could take the criticism without it affecting her. So, Storm, you made it through, even though the band felt your perfomance was “sauteed in wrong sauce.”
I still think you’re the best one there and you will make it to the end. If you want to watch Storm with other Storm fans, you now have two options in Portland. On Tuesday evenings, you can join other Storm Large fans to watch her perform on Rockstar at Dantes or at Wilf’s (in the train station.) Go Storm go!

I watched last night, but forgot to TiVo tonight’s episode, damn it! I really thought last night’s criticism was calculated - they set her up, then panned the performance. Maybe they wanted to seehow she’d do in the bottom three?
Can’t wait to see what happens next week; will try to make it either to Dante’s or Wilf’s.
Go, Storm!
And after seeing the final “bottom three” perform - Magni, Patrice and Zayra - it was obvious to me that Zayra’s time in the sun had come to an end.
Buh-bye, Zayra. You will be missed.
I don’t know for sure if it’s weekly - but they were showing it on the bigscreen in the Sideshow Lounge at Sabala’s a couple weeks ago too. I forgot to set the DVR when we headed over there for a show - I was so pleased not to miss it!
I thought it was really weird that Dave slammed Storm so harshly, then the next night said she sang well, he just didn’t like the lack of irony. Oh well, ultimately I think Dilana’s going to win, but it’s fun to watch them all get better and better every week.

was surprised that no one gave her advice. maybe it is against the rules? she could have looked at what someone else did previously with a disco number. shorten it, rock out the crescendo part, and other arrangement strategies. maybe they do not permit phone calls to discuss music like that? the house band leader knew she was in trouble. could he not have suggested a possible alternative phrasing or emphasizing? i guess not for obvious purposes. but one time he did sing a phrase on tune for a fellow contestant who could not follow the melody.
Regardless of what life puts on the Super table for you, new fans arrive daily. Keep your chin up, rockem ‘n sockem, Storm. You have the talent, beauty and style to do as you wish.
