Round Here…
…we always stand up straight. Round here, something radiates.
And ’round here, it’s been an interesting week in the Metblogiverse. The highlight of the week was probably our first-ever Metroblogging Portland reader party we held last Tuesday at Acme. It was a bunch of fun… what could be better than a big ol’ vat o’ onion rings? Dieselboi recapped the event.
The topic of noise in the city took center stage as folks debated urban growth and train horns in the Pearl District. Commenter pdxbiodiesel noted that we should avoid “knee jerk reactionism on either side” which is always sound advice.
Other Metblog cities offer up a taste of their own culture as well. Apparently in New Orleans, men routinely call each other “baby” as a friendly greeting.
