Storm Large ain’t Cryin’

As most everyone agrees, last week on Rockstar was a setup. Storm is so strong, she’s been coasting the previous episodes, so the producers decided to mix it up and challenge her. They then panned her performance and she fell into the bottom three. This week, according to The O, Storm was going to fight for the song she wants, yet last night, she admittedly “settled” for Cryin’, the Aerosmith power ballad. She did a great job with yet another challenging song, putting her own spin on it. I never liked that song, but last night, I found myself singing along.

One thing I noticed was I feel the band has been told by the producers that even though a specific performer is great, all three of them can’t praise them. Last night, it was Gilby’s turn to find something wrong, but not address the wrong directly to Storm, but to the entire group. That way, it comes accross as a critique, but they can backpedal later and say it was for the group as a whole. Also, I just love how Storm talks straight to the guys. Dave N. “Hey, I want my corset back.” Storm, “Come get it bitch!” I love it!

One thing I thought was so ass was after Magni perfomed and Dave stated, “I want to see something get broken up there,” Ryan got up there and toward the end of his song, gently tossed his guitar onto carpet, making it look like he was “breaking” it. What a tool!

Ryan is real lame, begging everyone to vote for him in the supernova blog. I don’t buy his intense guy act. And anyway a Tommy Lee led band would hardly require much seriousness :)
Storm of course is hot. I’ve heard she has some good original material. Think she would need to do some of that to make the top 3.

Yo what? At the end of the day, the public voters decide on the sound of the band (or the look, which will alter the sound). C’mon. If you happen to link back to my blog, a few posts ago I spoke about Storm Large, because I’ve seen her live, have a mutual friend, and have hung out w/her personally. She’s an amazing singer. She has insane stage presence. But do I, who knows her, has seen her on the stage and backstage and more, think that she is the perfect fit for what I interpret Supernova to want to be? Hell no. Do I still love everything about her? Hell yes. Do I like other contenders as the frontman? Yes. Do I think she has progressed phenomenally throughout the show? Ever more yes. This show, no matter what the outcome, is teaching all of these performers to learn beyond their already understood strengths. Lukas needs to open his goddam throat. Ryan needs to look cool while he is angst and make the crowd like him. Etc., etc.

I think Storm would be a great addition to the band, yet I do aggree with you that it may not be her thing. I have a few friends who know her and her style and they say the same thing you do. I’m just excited she seems to be enjoying herself and having fun. Also, when she returns to Portland, she’ll sell out whereever she performs.

Also, I deleted your second comment as it seemed like a duplicate. If I missed something, please repost.
