KGW Butchering News, Again

In what seems to be a recurring topic, once again KGW’s web folks have posted something funky. Hopefully they’ll update the article but you can click through to the screenshot.

By my definitions, being “cleared” does not mean that one has just been found guilty of child neglect and mistreatment. Sure they were found not guilty on some of the other charges, but the heardline “Couple Cleared” sure makes them sound a lot less guilty than they are…

    They were “cleared in the death” which is true.

    Yes, b!X is right: “…cleared in death.” It’s not the most elegant headline, but that’s what it says.

    You guys are sorta right… but didn’t the child neglect lead to the death? If they weren’t ignoring the child, odds are the kid wouldn’t be dead.

    But that’s more of a legal question and not a headline question. I won’t concede defeat, but I see your point.
