Pumpkin Patches, Mazes, and More

Good Lord, Halloween is only 26 days away. Those of you with little ones in the house (or who simply never grew up) might plan on visiting one of the many pumpkin patches available in the area. There’s nothing like getting out of town, smelling some clean air, having some apple cider, and picking out your very own pumpkin right from the farm.

While Rusty has previously visited the Original Pumpkin Patch, there are other options for your autumnal visitations:

The State of Oregon has a list of Corn Mazes and Pumpkin Patches. In addition, there’s a more comprehensive list at Pumpkin Patches and More.org, including “Pumpkin Patches, Corn Mazes, Hay Rides and More” across Oregon, sorted by geographic area.

If you don’t have small children and were hoping for something a little more spooky, NW Haunts has compiled a listing of area Haunted Houses for your goosebumps to enjoy.

Then again, maybe you could care less about pumpkins, corn mazes, and ghouls. maybe you just want the taste of a crisp apple that just came off the tree. All About Apples has a list of farms where you can find a selection of wonderful fall apples.

Whatever you’re going to do, don’t wait for the last minute. Get out there and enjoy October.

Oh, yes! I’m planning my return trip even now! And with my newly-minted daughter (born just 2 days before All Hallow’s Eve) in tow, this year should be the best yet!
