Where Do You Buy Coffee?

I’m not talking about the daily latte or non-fat triple mochachino with a shot of vanilla nonsense, but your home-brewed, — maybe even home-ground– bags of coffee. Do you swing by Stumptown or buy beans from Starbucks? Since Coffee People is soon to be no more, are you hoarding Black Tiger beans? Or are you a Folgers kind of drinker for the at-home buzz?

While I brew coffee every morning at home, it’s only the first cup of the day, and it’s much more of a “need drugs now” mentality than a “this will be the best damn coffee I’ll drink all day” type thing, so I usually get whatever’s at sale at the store, whether that be Tully’s, Peete’s, Starbucks, or whatever (though always of the whole bean variety). But recently I found that Whole Foods, even with their “Whole Paycheck” nickname, has nearly two-pound bags of organic coffee, their own 365 Organic brand, for less than 10 bucks a bag. And since the coffee’s not bad, it’s the coffee of choice at the moment.

I like Blue Gardenia on N. Mississippi. I try a different roast when ever I need beans. They also got me turned onto using a French Press.. now I can’t drink it any other way.

I ususally just get whatever sounds best given my mood at Whole Foods (they have a nice selection)… however I recently have been drinking something I found at Trader Joes and it seems pretty decent.

I drink french press as well, though sometimes I yearn for the thinned out quality that I associate with drip coffee. nonetheless french press is kinda where it’s at.

i unfortunately don’t have the patience to wait for the french press in the morning… but you’ve reminded me that i have a one-cup press that i need to deposit at work for better coffee goodness there.
