Milwaukie Police seeking vehicle involved in hit and run

It’s been a rough year for cyclists in the Portland area. As reported by the Oregonian, last night yet another bicyclist was hit by a motorist, this time on SE McLoughlin Blvd, just north of River Road. Fortunately, the 18-year old male cyclist from Oregon City only suffered minor injuries, but the driver couldn’t be bothered to stop to see if he was OK.

Milwaukie police are looking for the vehicle involved, described as a ‘96-’99 dark green Suzuki Sidekick. The passenger-side mirror was broken off during the collision, and was collected at the scene of the accident. The Sidekick probably has some additional body damage on the right side.

Please keep an eye out for this vehicle. And if you have any information relating to the incident, please contact the Milwaukie police at 503-786-7500.

That got covered in the paper? No offense to the guy, getting hit by a car sucks ass for sure every time, but hasn’t pretty much every regular cyclist been the victim of a hit and run with minor injuries before? How’d he manage to get his in the paper?
