AOD - What your favorite Portland restaurant is!

AOD - Answer of the day. Wow, what a response. Thank you! There are some great places out there I need to put on my list for the next few days. Here’s what our readers think are the best Portland non-chain restaurants:

Pok Pok - 4 votes. And those were passionate votes. I gotta try this place.
Aprizza Scholls vs. Flying Pie Pizzaria - both 4 votes, so there is some serious competition.
For fine dining, Carlyle got 2 shout outs.
On a surprising note, Ringside West got two votes. One from a reader who stated he goes there with the boys. Something to notate.
Thanks all for your opinions. I have a huge list of restaurants I need to check out.

Pok Pok and Flying Pie- resounding YES on both. (Flying Pie provides pizza at the Academy Theater next door. Adult beverages too.)

IMHO, Biscuits on 50thish and NE Sandy, serves the best high-quality hangover breakfast in town. LumberJack-sized portions. Hash browns AND pancakes. Their sausage gravy is something out of a grandmother’s skillet.

For a little more money and a little less consistency, try the Cameo Cafe, 82nd and NE Sandy or 23rd and NW Westover. Go say hi to Charlie and Sue Gee. Their story is a Valentine’s Day card.

I’ll second the vote someone cast for Shanghai Noble House (at Johns Landing). I stop there often to grab a to-go dinner on my way home to the L.O.
