Marion’s furniture N. Interstate - Closing Sale

If you are chuckling, you get the joke. This deteriorating building has been closed and essentially abandoned for about 6 years. I can never remember it being open even though the sign says OPEN and there is a phone number (sans 503) to contact the owners. (BTW, when I called the number a few years ago, it was disconnected.) The strange thing is that the building is full of furniture and other items and those items haven’t changed this whole time.
Well, while heading home yesterday, the doors were open and a huge sign was out - CLOSING SALE. If you are as interested as I, head on down and see what’s been hiding away there for so long.
The building and neighboring gas station and saltbox house are being replaced by a mixed use condo project in the next few years.

every time I’ve been by there, I’ve wondered about all that furniture stacked to the ceiling… hmmm, might have to make a trip over there if anything’s left by this weekend.

I sing the little dittie “at Marion’s car-pets” when I see that sign. I doubt if they’re related though.

I have a feeling everything in there is saturated with cigarette smoke.

Hey, give us an update if you did go. Would be good to know if it’s worth the drive.
