Affordable Housing Gets A Boost

We may be going through a condo bubble but there is some news tonight that will hopefully balance the local housing market.

The Portland City Council approved $25 million in affordable housing tonight.

From the Business Journal:

Averaging about $25 million a year, the council expects to spend $125.5 million over five years for housing for working families, people of color, seniors, people with disabilities, people in recovery and other Portlanders that have been left behind by the housing market.

This is grreat news. The city council deserves kudos for this one.
