Chasse Memorial Service Tonight

I don’t know all the details, but I just discovered that there will be a Memorial Service for James Chasse tonight, 7 to 8:30 PM at the First Congregational Church, at 11th and Park downtown (link is Google Maps).

No matter what you think of the circumstances of his death or the resulting political fallout, a man has died and this evening his life will be celebrated by people who cared about him.

At least, that’s what I hope; I also hope it doesn’t devolve into a sign-waving smackdown involving demonstrators and police and anybody else. Maybe for once everyone can just be civil and reflect on the life of someone who died too soon.
