Espresso Map

I ran into someone I know from my days long ago in Mt. Tabor over at the Bakery Bar. I had seen him walk in and talk with the baristas about the little compasses he was handing out for Espresso Map, a map mashup he created to help people find good espresso when they are traveling. Site is still filling up but it is still a handy resource. I am so embarrased, though. I can’t remember the guy’s name who developed the service. Dang. Anyway, the service is prettty cool.

I really could have used Espresso Map the other day after arriving in New York. I asked people walking through Union Square if they knew a good indie coffee shop. They were stumped and pointed me to Starbucks. Ugh.

But tonight I did a few checks on Espresso Map and discovered Joe’s The Art of Coffee on 13th Street just off Union Square. I’ll be back in the city tomorrow. And if I’m in Union Square, looks like I will know where to go for a good espresso. Now, do they have wifi? Site does not say. We’ll see.
