Good Dog/Bad Dog/Closed Dog
I walked by Good Dog, Bad Dog today with thoughts of a juicy Italian in my mind when I discovered they were CLOSED! Holy crap! What am I going to do when I crave a quality dog and want to sit inside for lunch. I am so bummed. I remember when they opened like 10 years ago. My buddy and I would split our time between there, Tennessee Red’s and the Hawaiian cart at Keller fountain.
Any suggestions for a good brat downtown? So sad. So sad.

It’s CLOSED???
Aw, crap.
i know! did you ever try the Chairman? OMG!!!!\
I am such a dog nerd. I even went to the parents house yesterday to make venison sausage – and it was tasty!
Aw, crap – I didn’t post about it ’cause it’d been on a few other sites & I figured you all knew!
The owner lost his lease and/or was facing a big rent increase, so got out. The other locations (airport and Washington Square) are apparently still open – the airport location was only a mere shadow of the downtown spot, though.
Portland Food has more insight here…
I got a Chairman about every other time I went. I never had the balls to get a Chairman made with a Magma dog, though.
I also used to really like getting a cup of their chili in the middle of winter.
Have you tried the hot dog cart at 5th and (I think) Salmon? She makes a decent Chicago dog.
There are still the Washington Square and Airport locations. See here:

Try Superdog in the south park blocks.
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
crap.
mmmm… remember when tennesse red’s was actually run by red. and his wife. they would have their baby right there behind the counter (when it was take out only).
man those were the days.
WTF!? How on earth could his landlord jack up the rent with all those vacant storefronts nearby?
Gazing into my crystal ball, I predict the space will either a.) sit empty for years and years, or b.) morph into yet another cookie-cutter “swanky” martini bar, since the GD/BD space is too small for a doggie day spa, and in the near future every surviving business in the city will be either a martini bar, a doggie day spa, or a mutant hybrid of the two.
How about a nail salon? There are tons of nail salons popping up all over the city :D
To get a good hot dog/sausage sandwich, please visit:
1) Wicked Weenie, cart at SW Fifth and Main St
2) Wynn’s, cart at SW 4th Ave AT SW Morrison St
3) SuperDog, of couse, SW Park and SW Clay. (This is my place)
