The Last Innocent Man

In between gusts of wind and bursts of rain this weekend, I managed to venture out of the house to do some errands. On one of these errands, the young man who was ringing up a purchase I had made commented on the shirt I was wearing, as he said he had seen the design and logo around in a few different places and wondered if it was a company or a restaurant or what.

The shirt to which he was referring was this S-K t-shirt design. While I’m sure he was just too busy taking the world seriously and being down for the cause to devote any time to any kind of media, I was still surprised that there was a person between the age of 16 and 40 who lived in Portland (or the outskirts of Portland) who had not heard of (not necessarily heard, but at least heard of) Sleater-Kinney. Wonders never cease. And seeing as how his manager and myself had been talking about the Burn to Shine DVD just a bit previously, I realized after the fact that he must have thought we were speaking in tongues.
