Portland Drivers In The Snow

I just found this footage on YouTube, apparently taken in Portland during the snow storm this week. Unbelievable. Can anyone tell where this footage was taken? It looks like SW Portland.

Update: It looks like this is near the Mac Club and PGE Park. That’s a steep hill. Explains why it looks like the car is accelerating as it bounces off everything in its path.

I’ll refrain from asking where’ve you been. This has been all over the media and the internet.

Yeah the night of the day happening, it made the Keith Olberman program…

From what I understand a beaverton school teacher awoke to cars “crunching” below, grabbed his camera, shot this footage, and called (KGW-8) our NBC affiliate… hence MSNBC and K5 in Saettle running the footage

Yeah, I just realized this probably has been all over the place. My girlfriend said tonight she saw the footage on the news and is why she did not loan me her truck. Hah! It’s the first I had seen it. Where have I been? In bed. Storm and everything else floated by in a head cold daze.

KGW was showing that footage all week. I seem to recall it was SW 20th and Salmon. This is probably it: http://www.kgw.com/sharedcontent/VideoPlayer/videoPlayer.php?vidId=114046&catId=437
I can’t view it at the moment but I think its the same footage with an interview of the cameraman.

Hey go easy on Alex! It may have been all over the news but it’s still interesting and topical (like it or not). Jeeze. For the record it’s all over the news here in Southern California too. We were all obsessed with it until IT BEGAN SNOWING IN MALIBU.

Snow in L.A. is interesting and all but it’s not nearly as fun to watch as the driving antics of the citizens of my hometown. So we grew tired of the dusting of the southland and again turned out attention back to PDX’s crazy video.

Own it. Love it. Watch it. Rinse. Repeat.

Love it – and my Internet didn’t have that video yet. ;-)

And it looks like it could have happened over here as well – people in Berlin never see snow and they are a bunch of cluebies when Winter comes to the city and all of the sudden you have to be extra cautious and should get a set of Winter tires. ;-)

Sent in by a teacher who heard cars sliding earlier and grabbed his video camera to film this. Afterwards, he and his wife helped others in the area to divert traffic to prevent more collisions. There were very many accidents in this area; intersection of SW 20th and Salmon. This info and the film was aired in KGW8 the day after it happened. The newcaster interviewed the person that filmed it.
