My New Ride
Four years ago I sold my car. Since that point in my life, I traveled by foot, bike, bus and taxi. Lately, though, with the time pressures of a new job, I startd renting cars to get around. Oh, that gets expensive. So, yesterday morning, I saw an ad in Craigslist for a 1991 Volvo 740 Wagon, painted in my favorite blue. By the afternoon, she was mine.
I have mixed feelings. But, with the kids living on the other side of town, I expect this will make things a lot simpler.
And so this weekend, what are we going to do? Road trip!
Woohoo!
Nice car and Volvo makes or at least made good solid cars, also I agree about the blue it is one of the nicer shades…
Ever been out to the wine country?
Something I enjoying doing on an occasional Sunday is driving out 99 to Dundee and having lunch at the Dundee Bistro. Not really a road trip, but a nice drive and nice lunch nonetheless
P.S. I used to have a Volvo and my mechanic was truly terrific… he made house calls ,worked out of his own garage, and charged a very fair price for his services. Swedish Volvo Massage and his name is Brian Day 971-219-1299… I have not called on him for a couple of years but would imagine he is still in business.
Nice ride, Alex. The perfect Portland vehicle – it seems like these things are everywhere! There must be a good reason for it. :-)
Thank GOD you didn’t get a Subaru! :-)
hee hee – PAgent – thanks for tossing that out there for me :-D
