No Metrofi Worries, I Bought An EVDO Card Today

No more Metrofi worries for me. I bought an EVDO card from the Verizon store today. I am going to SXXW for eight days and you know how wifi can be when on the road. Plus, now I can be connected on the bus, in my apartment and on I-5 as I head to San Francisco in April for Podcast Hotel. Looks like I need a co-pilot. :-).

I thought a lot about Metrofi over the past few days. I wonder with tech like EVDO if wifi is already old-fashioned. I don’t think so. The need is there. I guess that is the disappointment with Metrofi. It could be such a useful service.

And I am not super happy about EVDO, either. It sure is ugly connected to my handsome MacBook. And I have to pay $$$ for it. But I don’t have DSL or cable at the apartment. And I can plug this baby in to any computer. But, still, the telcos are making a mint on this one. And that doesn’t please me one bit.
