OPB Rebrands (and launches OPBnews.org!)
You may have noticed that OPB, our local public media superbroadcaster, has been going through a few changes in the last few weeks. They’re in the middle of rolling out a new brand by Leo Ketel and a whole slew of supporting materials. Viewers of OPB’s TV offerings have been seeing the new brand pop up and roll around between shows (thanks to on-air graphics from Incubate), radio listeners have ben… well… probably imagining the brand thanks to the magic of radio, and here on the internets we get ourselves a shiny new website.
One of the best parts of this site, as pointed out by oregonlive.com blogger Nino Marchetti, is the new news section. It’s conveniently accessible at OPBnews.organd focuses on local and regional news. It seems to combine stories from the AP wire and local newspapers with original OPB reporting. We can never have too much solid local news coverage online and OPBnews.org looks like it will provide us with a good source of more in a clean and simple way. Oh, and they’re also rocking the RSS feeds.

Not surprised to hear that this rocks, if the guy reponsible behind the scenes is who I think it is….!
Who? Who? Who?
“I think, therefore I am Oregonian” ? What kind of tagline is that?! Fine to rebrand, fine to get a flashier website, but come on. Pathetic.
