Green Light

My mom was in town for a couple of weeks visiting and today was the dreaded airport day. The day we pack everyone up in the car with luggage and tears and head off to the airport. Once there we circle the parking garage searching for a space for 20 minutes until finally finding one and then sending “Nana” away home after a goodbye lunch. This is never a good thing.

Today though I had a bright surprise when I was reminded of the red/green parking lights in the airport garage. So simple. So wondrous. Why didn’t they do it sooner? If you are a frequent visitor to the airport, and you take your car, make sure you glance up next time you’re in the short term garage. Above each space is a light indicating whether or not a car is parked there. No more tiny commuter cars hiding behind mammoth SUVs to confuse you. Hooray.
